Man alive is there anything better than travelling solo to a developing city whilst deep in the throes of an assassin novel?
Read this one while touring parts of Java. And while the book’s setting of urban America didn’t exactly correlate with the jungle, temples and luwak coffee, Evan Smoak’s solo approach in a crowd had me feeling an international man of mystery myself.
And, as ever, it is ever so satisfying when Evan gets his target.
This one builds somewhat on where the third book left off. The US President wants the loose ends of the Orphan Program tied up for good and so, rather stupidly, goes to war with Evan. That, coupled with a brutal side quest, fill the 400 pages of predictably fun assassinating.
Recommend. 👍🏻
